A Warm Modern Home In The Trees
Timber House is a new family home set among mature trees on a sloped suburban site. The design follows the land, stepping gently down the slope rather than cutting into it. Living spaces open to the forest on one side and stay protected on the other. The result is a warm, modern home that feels both grounded and light, and that lives in close dialogue with its natural surroundings.
The design began with the trees. The footprint was kept compact, so no mature tree was removed. Rooms were arranged along the slope, each opening to a different view. Solid walls face the street for privacy. Glass walls face the forest for light. The house follows the land rather than fighting it.

Materials were chosen for warmth and honesty. Timber frames the structure and lines the interior. Concrete anchors the base into the slope. Large glass panels bring in light and view. Natural finishes are left exposed, so the home feels soft, warm, and connected to the forest around it.
Light moves freely through the open plan. Rooms feel connected yet defined. Sightlines stretch outward to the trees, making the interior feel larger and calmer. Every space has access to daylight and view, so the forest is always present indoors.
The house opens fully to the forest through wide glass walls. A long timber deck extends the living space outdoors. Inside and outside flow together without effort. The slope becomes part of the daily experience, with each level opening to a different view. Nature is not just seen from the house. It is lived in.
The home now serves as a warm, calm place for a growing family. It offers shelter, light, and room to gather. The forest is always present, even indoors. The space supports rest, play, and slow daily life.
The project proves that modern homes can sit gently among trees. With care and restraint, a house can offer warmth, comfort, and lasting value. Timber House is a quiet example of design shaped by its landscape.
